What is egghead?

egghead.io is a community where web developers learn from each other through short lessons and workshops teaching the tools of our trade.

Our instructors hail from every continent but Antarctica. (Thatโ€™s next.) egghead instructors are platform-agnostic, learning-enthusiastic, and badass by definition, however they define it.

egghead was created by a small team of web developers who know how essential it is to keep learning. Thereโ€™s always a new tool or framework to figure out. We made egghead so the experts can create lessons to share their knowledge with people who need it.

What are egghead lessons?

egghead lessons are bite-sized, practice-ready video tutorials for busy web developers.

Every egghead lesson consists of a single screencast thatโ€™s 1โ€“10 minutes long. Youโ€™ll record your screen as you talk through a code example, just like youโ€™re explaining how you solved a problem to a coworker. The goal of each lesson is to give learners a specific piece of knowledge they can use right away.

We believe that everybody has a voice, and that your voice matters. egghead isn't an elite club. egghead is a small community of professionals working to educate and assist others achieve more in their careers as web developers.

How do I get started?

Becoming an egghead instructor starts with an invitation. We can only properly support a small number of new instructors at a time. If you haven't received an invitation, we want you to know that you don't need our permission to teach online. This guide is here for you too, so please use it to create something badass.
